At UP|HC (United Painting and Hornsten Construction) our mission is to maintain the highest level of professionalism, integrity, honesty, and fairness in our relationships across the board. To achieve this, our goal is to perform for our customers the highest level of quality coating and construction services at fair and market competitive prices. Our success is based on the coordination with all project team members, suppliers, subcontractors and professional associates.
From Paint Contractor to Construction Partner
Since 2004, UP|HC started with a simple approach: do good work, take care of our customers, and say yes when an opportunity came our way.
We grew because our customers trusted us with more. What started with painting expanded into additional scopes as our clients asked us to take on more of their projects.
That evolution has taken us from a painting contractor to a multi-state, multi-scope commercial contractor serving the Carolinas and beyond. Today, UP|HC brings together the people, experience, and field capabilities to deliver a wide range of specialty construction scopes under one team.
Painting is still at the heart of who we are. But over the years, we've built the capabilities to do much more.

Are the foundation of our business. We've built our company alongside General Contractors, owners, developers, and industry partners who continue to trust us with their projects. We don't look at a job as a transaction. We look at it as another opportunity to build a relationship that lasts.
Safety
Is part of the job, not something added to it. Our people deserve to go home safely every day, and our customers deserve a contractor who takes that responsibility seriously on every jobsite.

Our capabilities have changed dramatically since our early days. Our approach hasn't.
We've never been afraid to take on a challenge, learn something new, or step outside of what we've done before. That “Say Yes” attitude is a big part of how a painting contractor became the company we are today.
It means being willing to take on more responsibility when our customers need it. It means finding solutions when the job doesn't go exactly according to plan. And it means having the people and the experience to back up the answer when we say yes.
